How Not To Be Late For Work

Are you one of those people who has a problem of being habitually late? Does your unhealthy relationship with time affect your reputation in the workplace?

If so, then this is the article for you.

Being late for work is one of those traits that can become a big hindrance not just for your work life but your personal life as well.

The good news, however, is that things can change. There are certain things you need to understand if you really want not to be late for work. The tips that I am going to share with you here need to be followed consistently for the results to be seen.

  1. Accept that you need to change

The first step in the process of change is to accept the fact that there is something within you that needs to be changed. Things become easier when you make a firm decision to do it. You start figuring out your blind spots and find out what you need to work upon.

  1. Track the time you take for each activity

Often we underestimate the amount of time we take for completing our daily tasks. Once you start keeping track of the tasks you do and the time it takes to do them, you will have a clear idea about the time taken for completing your tasks. This will help you in getting a correct estimation of the time taken for getting ready and leaving for the office.

  1. Forget the snooze button

While the alarm clock is certainly an interesting device, for some people it doesn’t make any difference in their lives. If you are someone who loves to keep snoozing your alarm, you need to understand that a few extra minutes of sleep is not going to help you accomplish anything. Instead of using the snooze button, what you need to do is go to sleep a little earlier so that you get complete rest and wake up at the first alarm ring.

  1. Find different routes to work

If you have a motorbike or car, you must have experienced the pain of getting stuck in busy traffic. If you are someone like me, even the thought of being stuck in a traffic jam is painful. Sometimes all it takes to escape the rush is to take a different route to reach your destination. If you do not own a bike or car, you can find a two-wheeler for rent quite cheap. Get a two-wheeler for rent and take different routes to work to find the shortest one.

  1. Have a strict morning routine

Your morning routine is something that you need to plan very carefully. This is what sets your tone for the day and keeps you going. When you follow your morning routine strictly, you will find that you have enough time to reach your office.
