How to improve cell phone signal reception

One of the most irritating things I have faced in life is poor mobile network coverage. There have been times when I needed to make an urgent call and there was no network coverage. It was super irritating. There was nothing I could do about it then as I didn’t know about these tips then which I am going to talk about here.

So, let’s try and understand how we can improve our cell phone signal reception

1. Don’t move around

When you are in an area where the network coverage is not very good, you need to stop and stay in one place while talking. Avoid moving around while talking as your phone and the network have to constantly adjust to adapt to the changing location.

2. Get rid of the phone case

Sometimes, it is just your phone case that blocks the network. Removing it can improve the signal. Do give it a try next time when you get a bad signal reception.

3. Avoid blocking the antenna

The modern-day phones come with antennas built-in inside the phone. The location of the antenna is not known. This can be the reason for a bad signal as you might block the signal with the placement of your hand over the signal receiver. What you can do here is try changing the way you hold your phone to find the most suitable position.

4. Switch between network types

The signal strength at a location very much depends upon the type of network. Try switching the network from 3G to 4G or 4G to 5G. There are some major differences between 5G network and 4G network. The major difference when we talk about 5G vs 4G is that of coverage. You get much better coverage on a 5G network.

5. Move away from obstructions

If you are inside a building and facing poor connection chances are that your signal is getting blocked by the building. In such a case, you need to move to an open area so that it becomes easy for your phone to catch the signal.

6. Battery charge

Most people don’t this but a phones’ battery has to do with signal reception. If your phone’s battery level is lower than 30%, chances are that you may face bad reception issues.

7. Use WiFi network

If your phone has the option for WiFi calling, you can have the convenience of making audio and video calls without any interruption.

These were the things that you can do to improve your network coverage and get better reception. While all these tips are helpful, I personally like the idea of switching to a 5G network as it is upgraded with new technologies. Read and find out more about the benefits of 5G network. I’m certain that when it comes to 5G vs 4G, 5G is the clear winner. However, I’ll leave it to you to decide which network to choose.
